CLR outperforms three product regulations imposed by Volkswagen

La Levantine Reducers Company exceeds the regulations imposed by the German manufacturer affecting the electric folding system of rear-view mirrors

Once again, CLR once again demonstrates its adaptability to the requirements of automotive sector surpassing The regulationsVolkswagen related to folding rear view systems. In particular, the company has been able to adapt to the revision of two standards affecting the development of reducers in foldable rear-view mirror drives. These are the specific regulations of the exterior mirror with electric adjustment (standard TL 82398), the of electrical and electronic components in vehicles up to 3.5 t. (VW80000), as well as the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standard for automotive electronic components (TL81000).In these standards, and among other requirements, Volkswagen required, at the level of life cycle testing of the reducer, a minimum of 50,000 optimal operating cycles of the product.

CLR, thanks to the effort and commitment of its engineering team, has far exceeded the standard, reaching 85,000 life cycles. In addition, in some samples, more than 100,000 cycles have been recorded. The tests have been carried out in duly accredited independent external laboratories. To arrive at these results, gearmotors by CLR have had to pass, among others, the following quality tests:

  • Reducer operation test at -40ºC.
  • Test at 80ºC.
  • Test at room temperature.
  • Operating test at 40ºC with 95% humidity.

In this way, CLR reducers have overcome the Testing Endurance, test that guarantees the optimal operating levels of the reducer at the level of torque or drag force delivery, electrical consumption and positioning. On the other hand, following the line of these good results, our reducers A50+ Series have passed the tests relating to electromagnetic compatibility, another of the most important aspects for these rear vision equipment. Legal compliance is one of the major challenges faced by CLR engineering and quality team in automotive projects. In this regard, the company works to adapt to the requirements set by its customers, demonstrated adaptability and versatility.

The success of the Levantine Reducing Company is corroborated by cumulative production levels in recent years of more than 30,000,000 million gearmotors for the folding of electric mirrors. Thus, CLR manufactures and markets actuators that facilitate the movement of the rearview mirror between parking, driving, and counter-parking positions; components that can be found in models as representative as the Ford Mondeo Or the Volkswagen Beetle. How vendor Tier 2, the company strives to meet the required standards in terms of quality, carrying out hard tests of life and effort in all its manufactured products. In this way, CLR manages to ensure the durability and optimal operation of the drive under extreme conditions.CLR has been dedicated to finding the perfect movement for its customers for more than two decades in automotive. Precision, Adaptability, Quality and Strength These are some of the concepts that define CLR reducers. In fact, the Levantine Reducer Company is constantly looking for innovative solutions adapted to the demands of its customers, satisfying with solvency all the new regulations that they impose on it.
