Planetary gearboxes

Planetary gearboxes are characterized by the arrangement of their gears differing from that of other models such as worm gear motors, or spur and helical gear motors. How could these elements be classified?

  • Sun: Central gear rotating over central axis.
  • Planet carrier (Carrier): It fastens up to 3 peripheral planet gears which mesh with the sun. .
  • Crown or ring: External ring which mesh satellites and which enclose the whole epicycloid train. Thanks to this, the central axis can become the rotation centre for the ring, which allows to easily change the direction.
